Universal Health Services seeks an Infection Control / Staff Educator RN at Southridge Behavioral Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. You will lead infection control surveillance, education, and compliance initiatives while also serving as Staff Educator to develop training for nurses and staff.

As part of the Nursing Leadership Team, you’ll participate in on-call coverage, assist with staffing, mentor nurses, and promote a culture of safety and professional growth across the facility.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in staff education, employee health or infection control strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the hospital’s Infection Control Program, including infection surveillance, reporting, and prevention initiatives.
• Serve as a key resource to clinical teams, providing education, guidance and support to ensure regulatory standards and best practices.
• Partner with leadership to assess learning needs and design training programs; support the employee health compliance program.
• As a member of the Nursing Leadership Team, participate in on-call rotation and assist with staffing needs; mentor new and developing nurses.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability and professional growth across the nursing staff.

The Infection Control / Staff Educator is a Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating the hospital’s Infection Control Program, including infection surveillance, reporting, and prevention initiatives. This role serves as a key resource to clinical teams, providing education, guidance, and support to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. In addition, this position functions as the Staff Educator, partnering with leaders to assess learning needs and design and implement required training programs, while supporting the employee health compliance program.

As a member of the Nursing Leadership Team, this position supports overall nursing operations, including participation in the on-call rotation and assisting with staffing needs alongside other nursing leaders, including schedule coverage when vacancies arise. The Infection Control / Staff Educator also mentors new and developing nurses, fostering clinical competence, confidence, and a culture of safety, accountability, and professional growth.

Qualifications

Job Requirements
