Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an internal communications specialist in Illinois to craft employee-facing content and lead enterprise communications. You will translate complex information into clear, engaging material for a broad audience and support planning and execution of communications campaigns.

The role requires strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives across channels while collaborating with People, Marketing, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in internal/private communications or related fields; internships ok.
• Strong written and verbal communication with great attention to detail.
• Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content for employee audiences.
• Strong organizational and project management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities.
• Experience with content management systems or intranet/newsletter tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft employee-facing communications including announcements, newsletters, intranet content, leadership messages and updates.
• Translate complex information into clear content for employee audiences.
• Plan and execute enterprise communication initiatives and campaigns.
• Maintain alignment with company priorities, culture and brand voice.
• Develop FAQs, talking points, toolkits and supporting materials.
• Ensure timely, transparent, and effective communication during change periods.
• Publish content across internal/external channels and platforms.
• Coordinate communication calendars and monitor upcoming priorities.
• Collaborate with People, Marketing, Capability Leads and stakeholders to gather information and support needs.
• Build relationships across teams to identify communication opportunities.
• Assist in coordinating reviews, approvals and distribution processes.
