Employee Benefits Sales Underwriter - Southeast Region

Join us as an Employee Benefits Sales Underwriter - Southeast Region at USI Insurance Services.

Location: Remote in Florida, with travel to USI offices and clients as needed.

Overview

This client-facing role involves analyzing information to develop and deliver financial solutions for prospective and existing clients with complex benefit programs. The employee benefits sales underwriter will support the Southeast Region.

Responsibilities

1. Serve as a resource for sales executives, developing strategic plans and solutions for prospects and larger clients.
2. Collaborate with service team members to articulate clients’ objectives and deliver proactive solutions.
3. Provide underwriting review and technical insight, guiding on financial concepts and solutions.
4. Explain market influences and trend data affecting benefit costs.
5. Participate in sales presentations, leading financial analysis and discussions.
6. Utilize data analytics tools for presentations and analysis.
7. Analyze and prepare financial reports, including claims, trend analyses, and funding models.
8. Develop alternative funding strategies and cost reduction opportunities using analytical tools.
9. Review contracts and financial arrangements technically.
10. Lead and develop team standards, processes, and mentor junior members.
11. Maintain industry knowledge and develop carrier relationships.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in employee benefits or related field.
• High School diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Willing to obtain or hold a state Life & Disability insurance license.
• Broad insurance industry knowledge with strong negotiation and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
