Qualifications

• Three years of legal experience at law firm, in-house or government advising on employee benefits matters.
• Familiarity with retirement plans, health and welfare programs and fringe benefits.
• Understanding of taxation and ERISA as applied to these programs.
• Willingness to expand practice to broad employment law topics.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefit programs, including retirement and health plans.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, ERISA, and the tax code.
• Draft, review, and maintain plan descriptions, filings, disclosures and communications.
• Identify legal risks and propose strategic solutions to mitigate them.
• Stay informed on changes in benefits law and related regulations and advise management.
