Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seniorLife & Health Benefits Consultant to lead financial consulting for an assigned book of business and supervise the D&A team. You will independently evaluate financial and utilization metrics for customers and coach teammates.

You will manage renewals, model plans, and cost-reduction opportunities while expanding the client book and delivering comprehensive reports. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Must have and maintain a current Life & Health Insurance License for required states.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) with three (3) years’ experience in Employee Benefits Administration, or high school graduate with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience; other combinations of work and/or education will be considered
  • Solid knowledge of group health and welfare benefit plan coverage, current legislation, rules, laws, and other regulations
  • Knowledge of insurance plans, underwriting principles, selection, pricing, rating, and premium calculation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to learn agency management websites at an accelerated pace
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Supervision of no less than two full-time teammates

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial consulting for an assigned book of business and department

  • Provide feedback and foster teammate growth through measurable goals
  • Manage customer assignments to the D&A team
  • Negotiate renewals and recommend insurance solutions, alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost-reduction opportunities
  • Expand the assigned book of business
  • Oversee financial reports and client deliverables from D&A teammates
  • Lead training efforts for reports and deliverables
  • Participate in client and prospective-client meetings
  • Perform reporting and analysis in preparation for meetings
  • Establish and manage relationships with carrier partners and internal resources
  • Liaise with the Tech team, Account Managers, and Producers on renewals and marketing projects
  • Occasional local travel to visit customers or prospects may be requested
