Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Account Services professional in Washington state to manage all aspects of the client-service process and serve as the primary contact for eligibility, claims, billing, and benefits inquiries. You will collaborate with Producers and HUB personnel on client service, marketing, and renewals.

The role requires 3–5 years in benefit insurance, an Life & Health license, and a strong background in benefits administration and client relations.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of benefit insurance experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Active Life & Health License required.
  • High School Diploma / GED required; College degree preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and agency management systems.

Job description

  • Manage all aspects of the account-service process
  • Work with Producers and HUB personnel on client service, marketing, and renewals
  • Analyze and compare insurance plans to determine suitability
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and insurance carriers
  • Serve as client point of contact for eligibility, claims, billing, and benefit administration inquiries
  • Liaise between clients and carriers to resolve service issues
  • Maintain accurate account files and update HUB and agency management systems
  • Monitor insurance-industry changes and recommend appropriate client actions
  • Update open enrollment packets, benefit rates, COBRA forms, plan documents, and summary plan descriptions
  • Submit BOR letters and obtain contracts, renewals, and benefit descriptions
  • Market plans to carriers and prepare quotes and proposals
  • Assist clients with billing issues, auditing, and reconciliation
  • Gather data and prepare or conduct renewal, open enrollment, and post-renewal presentations
  • Lead implementation of new and renewal plans or programs
  • Advise clients on HUB resources, carrier/vendor offerings, and industry trends
  • Prepare or peer review EB Compensation Disclosure
  • Obtain post-enrollment numbers for each plan
  • Prepare annual legal notices
  • Facilitate benefits administration and HRIS system updates using Ease, ADP, Paylocity, and similar systems
  • Set up HR advocacy tools, legal compliance resources, and wellness value-adds
  • Review contracts for accuracy
  • Participate in carrier/vendor program implementations and initiate vendor payments
  • Partner with producers to develop benefits strategies, financial analyses, plan assessments, benchmarking, and funding alternatives
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects
Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • College degree strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years of benefit insurance related experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Active Life & Health License
  • Required experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and agency management systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally orally and in writing
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ability to work effectively with insurance and service vendors
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and coach others
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and solve problems

  • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
  • Negligible travel required
