Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a skilled professional to maintain the Master Patient Index integrity across enterprise systems. You will analyze clinical and demographic data, verify duplicate assignments, and ensure patient safety through accurate linking of records.

Responsibilities include timely responses to inquiries, data clean-up in EHRs, and collaboration with internal/external stakeholders to resolve complex chart issues.

Qualifications

• Maintain HIM Data Integrity Services queues and reporting.
• Identify non-compliance areas to reduce duplicate records and registration errors.

Job description

Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Master Patient Index. Analyzes work queues to identify medical records to be merged within a facility, or linked across facilities, regions, and other source EMRs. Answers incoming calls, email messages related to duplicate numbers and other duties as assigned.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Maintains integrity of the enterprise-wide Master Patient Index to ensure patient health information resides under a unique EMPI number.
• Performs analytical reviews of clinical and demographic information and verifies assignment of duplicate numbers to the same person to ensure patient safety.
• Provides timely response to all incoming calls and/or emails related to duplicates.
• Assists with the overlay resolution errors and any complex data clean-up and/or other activities related to chart correction within EHRs.
• Communicates and collaborates with internal and external customers to resolve complex chart issues.
• Merges or Unmerges the clinical and demographic information in the source EMR as per requirement.
• Maintains al assigned HIM Data Integrity Services work queues and reports.
• Assists in identification and communication of areas of non-compliance with established policies and procedures to decrease the creation of duplicate medical records, registration errors, and other medical record errors
• Demonstrates advanced critical thinking, reasoning, problem-solving, decision-making ability.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
