Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in Laguna Hills, CA, is seeking an Instructional Assistant (emotional support) to support students with special needs under the supervision of the Emotional Support Special Education Teacher. Duties include modeling appropriate behavior, assisting with IEP/PBSP, and meeting student personal needs with health staff.

Mon-Fri, 8am–3:30pm; competitive salary and comprehensive benefits begin after 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
• Experience in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex issues preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain classroom policies and model appropriate behavior.
• Assist in implementing IEP and PBSP as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with students' personal needs, including medical needs with health staff.
• Participate in meetings and in-service training programs.
• Understand team goals and support team decisions and cooperate with others.
• Utilize crisis intervention techniques under the direction of the teacher.
