Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care System in Hermiston, Oregon seeks an experienced EMG Technician to perform electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCS) for neuromuscular diagnosis. You will prepare patients, apply electrodes, operate neurodiagnostic equipment, and ensure accurate results with meticulous documentation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of neuroanatomy and electrodiagnostic testing principles.
• Ability to operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot neurodiagnostic equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to follow established testing protocols and physician direction.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for EMG and NCS procedures and answer questions.
• Verify patient identity and obtain clinical history prior to testing.
• Perform nerve conduction studies per protocols and orders.
• Apply electrodes and equipment for high-quality recordings.
• Monitor patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Maintain and calibrate neurodiagnostic equipment and software.
• Document data and results in the EMR and prepare preliminary reports.
• Communicate findings to supervising physician for interpretation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to coordinate care.
• Adhere to infection control and quality standards.
