Qualifications

• Associate degree in Neurodiagnostic Technology, Allied Health, or related healthcare field preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Electromyography (EMG) Technician or Neurodiagnostic Technology program preferred.
• Current certification as an R.NCS.T., CNCT, R.EDT, or equivalent preferred.
• BLS certification required within orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for EMG and NCS procedures and explain testing processes.
• Verify patient identity and obtain clinical history prior to testing.
• Perform nerve conduction studies per protocols and physician orders.
• Apply electrodes and testing equipment for high-quality recordings.
• Monitor patient condition and ensure safety and comfort during procedures.
• Calibrate and maintain EMG and neurodiagnostic equipment.
• Document testing data and results in the EMR.
• Prepare preliminary reports and communicate findings to the supervising physician.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA and policies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to coordinate care.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education.
