Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL is seeking a certified EMG technician to perform motor and sensory nerve conduction studies and related electrodiagnostic testing. You will prepare patients, position them for needle examinations, document results, and assist the neurodiagnostic team while maintaining OSHA-compliant safety and infection control.

Qualifications include High School diploma and 1–2 years EMG experience; CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• EMG procedures experience preferred
• NCS/EMG data collection and interpretation
• Ability to position patients for optimal testing and comfort
• Strong documentation and charting skills

Responsibilities

• Perform motor and sensory nerve conduction studies and somatosensory evoked potentials.
• Identify and reduce artifacts by patient positioning and environment.
• Prepare patient and equipment for needle examinations and disinfect electrodes.
• Verify correct nerve stimulation and document waveforms, latencies, amplitudes, and conduction velocities.
• Complete electrodiagnostic procedures per policy and maintain competency.
