Job summary

Boswell, a multi-disciplinary engineering firm in South Hackensack, NJ, seeks a Junior to Mid-Level Structural Engineer to join our team. You will work with licensed PEs on bridges, culverts, and waterfront structures, with hands‑on training and growing responsibility.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and strong knowledge of structural design. Travel to project sites is required, and EIT certification is encouraged as part of professional growth at Boswell.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (completed or in progress)
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design principles for reinforced concrete and structural steel
• Graduate‑level coursework in structural analysis, steel and reinforced concrete design, structural dynamics, or bridge engineering
• Experience with structural analysis and design software
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is preferred
• Interest in pursuing Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to travel to project sites as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design using industry-standard software
• Prepare structural calculations, design computations, technical reports, and construction documents under licensed PEs
• Prepare structural plans and details using AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation
• Design simple to complex bridges, culverts, and other structures
• Assist with NJDOT and NJTA projects; prior experience helpful but not required
• Participate in field investigations, site visits, and construction activities
• Comply with design standards and Boswell policies
