Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Associate Project Manager to join our team in Duluth, MN. The role supports planning and coordination of cross-functional teams to achieve project success, applying technical expertise and project management fundamentals to assess goals, requirements, and constraints.

Executing project plans, monitoring performance, and mitigating risk will be required daily. You will work with Project Managers, Team Supervisors, and program directors to manage

• Strong leadership skills and ability to lead projects.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Experience with developing and managing project schedules.
• Sound financial skills and ability to interpret budgetary data.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to read/interpret basic technical information.

Responsibilities

• Develop proposals with cost and resource estimates.
• Identify key deliverables and milestones.
• Establish baselines for scope, schedule, resources, and budget.
• Develop and execute project management plans.
• Support project manager in charter, work plans and kickoff meetings.
• Collaborate with project manager on assigned tasks.
• Communicate plans to teams and gain stakeholder buy-in.
• Provide ongoing communication to stakeholders and progress updates.
• Support project plans management, including scope, deliverables, and budget.
• Identify issues and risks; develop mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for resource allocation.
• Provide conflict management during key decisions.
• Facilitate project meetings with stakeholders.
• Maintain project management tools and logs.
• Review progress and risks to ensure milestones are met.
• Estimate Change Orders and report project performance metrics.
• Ensure all safety and quality requirements are met.
• Oversee coordinators on sub-projects as needed.
• Support managers on large/complex programs.
• Evaluate goals and outcomes to meet final requirements.
