Michigan State University’s Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) seeks a Project Controls Engineer I to support scheduling, cost management, and performance reporting. This role operates within the Project Controls Group for the Experimental Systems Division, collaborating with engineering and project teams on complex projects.

The candidate will develop and maintain detailed schedules, monitor Budgets, analyze performance, and support EVM activities.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in project controls, scheduling, or cost management.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, including scheduling development and reporting.
• Knowledge of cost control, schedule management, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to analyze variances and support corrective action planning.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules with stakeholders.
• Use Primavera P6 or MS Project to track milestones and baselines.
• Support cost control: budgeting, expenditure analysis, and reporting.
• Collect, analyze, and report cost and schedule performance data for EVM.
• Identify variances, assess impacts, and suggest corrective actions.
• Perform critical path analysis to find risks and opportunities.
• Prepare monthly status reports and support reviews.
• Create customized reports using scheduling and Excel tools.
• Participate in controls meetings to review performance and milestones.
• Help implement controls procedures and reporting standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align scope, cost, and schedule.
