Job summary

Old Republic National Title Insurance Company seeks a Junior National Commercial Underwriter in our Chicago office to underwrite title insurance policy coverages for commercial real estate transactions and to support national escrow officers in closing deals.

This entry‑level role requires a JD and the ability to understand endorsement and policy coverages, work on multiple files, and deliver strong client service as a team member.

Qualifications

• Entry level underwriting and closing for single and multi-site commercial transactions nationwide.
• Ability to understand endorsement and policy coverages and negotiate these with principals and attorneys.
• Working knowledge of State-by-State title insurance guidelines and real estate practices including endorsement availability, policy availability, transfer tax, mortgage tax and conveyance forms.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment with strong teamwork and client service.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite title insurance policy coverages for commercial real estate transactions.
• Assist national commercial escrow officers in closing transactions.
• Negotiate policy endorsement coverages in connection with owner’s and loan title insurance policies.
• Serve as a resource for salespeople and clients on title insurance and real estate questions.
