Job summary

KM Engineering in Idaho is seeking an Emerging Landscape Architect to join a multidisciplinary team focused on community design and public projects. You will collaborate with senior staff on project planning, design, and documentation to develop high-quality landscapes.

This role supports licensure progress toward professional registration, works on residential, parks, streetscapes, and municipal projects, and provides opportunities for growth with leadership exposure and ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture.
• 2-7 years of professional experience preferred.
• Actively pursuing landscape architect licensure.
• Experience with AutoCAD and related design software.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of landscape architecture plans and construction documents.
• Create site layouts, planting plans, irrigation plans, and design details.
• Produce graphics, renderings, and presentation materials.
• Support project managers in project coordination and client communication.
• Conduct site analysis, research, and field investigations.
• Collaborate with engineering, surveying, and planning teams.
• Participate in client and agency meetings.
• Continue progress toward professional licensure.

About Us

KM Engineering is a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing civil engineering, surveying, planning, landscape architecture, and environmental services throughout Idaho and the surrounding region. We are looking for an Emerging Landscape Architect who is passionate about community design and wants to grow alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

What you’ll do

This position is designed for individuals who are building experience toward professional licensure and leadership. Working closely with senior staff, the Emerging Landscape Architect will support project planning, design, and production while gaining exposure to a diverse range of development and public-sector projects.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of landscape architecture plans and construction documents.
• Create site layouts, planting plans, irrigation plans, and design details.
• Produce graphics, renderings, and presentation materials.
• Support project managers in project coordination and client communication.
• Conduct site analysis, research, and field investigations.
