Job summary

South Jersey Industries (SJI) offers a structured 11-week Ignite Internship Program with a hybrid work environment. Interns will work closely with the SJIU, Utility Shared Services Team—including Emergency Preparedness, Compliance, DOT Compliance, Standards, QA, Records, GIS and CAD/Drafting—to gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Less than 1 year of related experience.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree, with Fall 2026 or later.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a cross-functional internship.

Responsibilities

• Support Emergency Preparedness, Compliance, DOT Compliance, Standards, QA, Records, GIS and CAD/Drafting teams on projects.
• Assist in updating company standards to meet Federal, State requirements.
• Draft basic standard details.
• Review materials and tools proposed for the company.
• Participate in meetings to understand reporting/data needs.
• Map existing utilities for land development and asset management.
• Assist in GIS app design, development, testing, and data conversion.
