Job summary

Progressive AE is seeking a Civil Engineering Designer I to design and develop documents for public and private civil projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D. You will work with project managers, engineers, and P.E.s who mentor you as you gain hands-on experience in plan design, production, and cross-discipline coordination.

You'll rotate through deliverables and compliance work, build fluency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools, and grow toward a Civil Engineering Designer II role and PE licensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent in education and experience.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Build core design and documentation skills across a range of civil project types and prepare detailed plan sets.
• Collaborate with senior staff and engineers to learn project scope, design changes, and budgets.
• Coordinate across disciplines to align deliverables with company standards.
• Develop quality-control habits by reviewing own work and flagging inconsistencies.
• Perform drainage, grading, and foundation calculations and refine CAD/BIM models.
