Job summary

rms Company is seeking a Junior Buyer for our Minnesota facility to support material planning and purchasing activities for raw materials, services, and components. You will work to maintain schedules, ensure on-time deliveries, and partner with suppliers and internal teams to meet quality, delivery, and cost targets.

Responsibilities

• Create purchase orders for raw materials, outside services, supplies and materials for product lines.
• Procure assigned parts, materials, supplies, equipment, and services for operation of business.
• Contact suppliers, obtain quotations, place orders, and ensure timely delivery.
• Exercise judgment on quality, delivery, and price for assigned commodities.
• Monitor inventory levels and expected receipts to avoid production delays.
• Expedite delivery of critical material.
• Enter requisitions, purchase orders and changes into system per procedures.
• Communicate material shortages to production planners.
• Provide input to purchasing measurements on supplier performance.
• Inform area manager of potential supplier failures delaying production.
• Maintain production schedules to enable product flow and on-time deliveries.
• Update bottleneck scheduling reports for manufacturing.
• Support visibility for operations leaders.
• Prepare and distribute production and dispatch schedules.
• Guide daily activities of the Material Handler.
• Assist in inventory activities.
• Support ISO and medical device quality requirements.
• Read and follow work instructions and standard work.
• Collaborate with sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality and finance.
• Understand customer needs and core markets served.
• Ensure business systems are implemented and functioning.
• Participate in required company meetings.
• Maintain an organized work area (5S).
• Participate in Operational Excellence Program.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
