Heart of Texas Veterinary Specialty Center in Round Rock, TX, part of Thrive Pet Healthcare, seeks a Veterinary Technician – Emergency to provide end-to-end care for pets in emergency settings. The role supports admission, treatment, and discharge, with a focus on rapid assessment and high-quality patient care.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in a veterinary practice, strong surgical and diagnostic skills, and the ability to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of recent experience in a veterinary practice.
• Strong veterinary skills, including routine procedures.
• Ability to safely and appropriately handle animals.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Previous emergency experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Client care and communication, ensuring quality pet and client service.
• Efficient patient assessments and quick response to emergencies.
• Patient monitoring during procedures and transport.
• Venipuncture and Iv catheter placement.
• Anesthetic monitoring and diagnostic imaging.
• Performing medical math and basic calculations.
