Job summary

Copeland Veterinary Hospital in Cookeville, Tennessee seeks a Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join a busy hospital where emergency and critical care are central. You’ll support DVMs with triage, ICU monitoring, diagnostics, and surgical prep, working closely with a compassionate team to deliver high‑quality patient care.

This full-time position offers competitive hourly pay of $15.00 to $18.00 based on experience, with training during an initial period and opportunities to expand skills

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience as an Emergency Veterinary Technician or Assistant preferred.
• ER and/or ICU experience preferred.
• LVT, RVT, or CVT preferred but not required.
• Strong clinical skills with a desire to grow.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Triage & Stabilization: rapidly assess and stabilize cases.
• ICU Monitoring: track vitals, manage pain, fluids, and oxygen support.
• Surgical Support: prepare patients, assist anesthesia, monitor recovery.
• Diagnostics: radiographs, run lab samples, interpret results.
• Medication Administration: deliver IV/IM/SQ/PO meds accurately.
• Client Communication: provide clear updates and discharge instructions.
• Workflow Coordination: maintain records in EMRs, prioritize care.
• Team Collaboration: work with ER DVMs and overnight team.
