Job summary

Copeland Veterinary Hospital in Cookeville, Tennessee is hiring a Veterinary Assistant/Technician for a full-time role.

You will provide emergency triage, ICU monitoring, surgical support, diagnostics, and client communication. Compensation $15-18/hour based on experience, with a schedule featuring four weekdays and alternating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience as an Emergency Veterinary Technician or Assistant preferred
• ER and/or ICU experience preferred
• LVT, RVT, or CVT preferred (not required)
• We welcome Veterinary Assistants with strong clinical skills and a desire to grow

Responsibilities

• Emergency Triage & Stabilization: Quickly assess and stabilize emergency cases
• ICU Monitoring: Track vitals, manage pain, fluids, and oxygen support
• Surgical Support: Prep patients, assist in anesthesia, monitor recovery
• Diagnostics: Perform radiographs, run lab samples, interpret results
• Medication Administration: Deliver IV, IM, SQ, and PO meds accurately
• Client Communication: Provide compassionate, clear updates and discharge instructions
• Workflow Coordination: Prioritize care, maintain EMR records
• Team Collaboration: Work with ER DVMs and overnight teammates
