Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician for our fast-paced ER team. You will record rounds, prioritize incoming patients, and work closely with the care team to implement treatment plans and client communications.

The role requires prior veterinary experience with a preference for emergency background and a state-registered veterinary technician license. Strong math skills for drug dosages and CRI calculations are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience preferred.
• State-registered technician license preferred.
• Ability to perform calculations (drug dosages, IV rate, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather information.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize by assessment.
• Collaborate with the patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care.
• Educate clients on home care, medications, and wellness updates.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prepare samples for outside labs.
