Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Monterey, CA is seeking a Relief Licensed Veterinary Technician for our ER Team. The role involves anesthesia management, emergency triage, radiography, and patient monitoring during critical care shifts.

You'll work under the Kahuna leveling system with shift differentials for nights and weekends, in a fast-paced environment focused on compassionate care for hospitalized pets.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician in good standing.
• Experience in emergency veterinary settings preferred.
• Ability to monitor anesthesia and manage critical patients.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Triage emergencies and monitor vitals.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Initiate CPR if needed and manage resuscitation.
• Place IV catheters and manage venous access.
• Administer medications and calculate medical dosages.
