Qualifications

• Dependent on local veterinary licensing and experience.
• Advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals including temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges for vital signs and interpret data accordingly.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vitals and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical dosages and administer medications by proper routes and duration.
• Phlebotomy and placement of intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
