Job summary

MedVet in the United States is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our ER team. The role supports veterinarians and technicians, monitors patients, and assists with client education.

Shift: Wednesday 7a-12p, Thursday-Saturday 7a-7p; compensation starts at $16.00/hour with additional differentials for evenings and weekends, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Schedule: Wednesday 7a-12p, Thursday - Saturday 7a-7p

Never a dull moment in the ER! Our patients need constant supervision to ensure treatment plans are executed. This department is perfect for someone who can identify patient distress and react accordingly, enjoys assisting with recovery and client follow up and education.

What you’ll do:

• Ensure patients receive quality care
• Ensure documentation is accurate and complete
• Oversight/care for stable patients
• Assist Veterinary Technicians with patient restraint
• Manage the restocking of supplies for clinical teams
• Maintain clean treatment areas and manage laundry needs of department

Who you are:

• Ability to multi-task, self-motivated and strong attention to detail
• Work successfully as a team member and autonomously

Compensation:

This position has an initial hiring range of $16.00 to $21.50 per hour based on skillset and experience. We support our weekend and overnight caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:

• Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm = base pay + $2/hour
• Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am = base pay + $3/hour
• Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) = base pay +$1/hour + any applicable differential
