Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is hiring an Emergency & Nursing Veterinary Technician for a Thursday–Saturday 7a–8p schedule. You will contribute to a fast-paced ER, delivering high-quality patient care and client education across emergency and specialty services.

We value teamwork, leadership and compassion as core drivers of the MedVet experience. A State Registered Veterinary Technician license is preferred, with prior emergency Vet experience and strong calculation skills essential

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required, emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRIs, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.

Emergency & Nursing Veterinary Technician – Proposed Schedule: Thurs‑Sat 7a‑8p

What you’ll do

Who you are
