Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking a State Registered Veterinary Technician to support the Nursing department. The role emphasizes vigilant patient supervision, phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, recovery support and client education.

You will collaborate with the care team on treatment plans, deliver rounds, monitor patients, and assist DVM with procedures and anesthesia. This position offers comprehensive benefits and professional growth opportunities within a fast-paced

Qualifications

State Registered Veterinary Technician license required.
Prior veterinary nursing or critical care experience preferred.
Proficient in calculations and drug dosing.

Responsibilities

Record and deliver rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary.
Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
Provide client education including home care instructions and medications.
Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.
