Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a surgical department and/or experience with high-risk anesthesia cases; or enrollment in an accredited licensure program with two completed semesters.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients
• Greet patients and owners and help guide them to exam rooms
• Triage patients, perform physical exams, treatments, and administer medications as directed by licensed staff
• Calm and soothe anxious patients
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications or patient restraint
• Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs
• Operate and maintain hospital equipment and ensure safe use of chemicals
• Fill prescriptions, document medications, and manage controlled drugs securely
• Maintain cleanliness of the hospital and kennels, including grooming and bathing when needed
• Maintain accurate medical records and full-time attendance
• Educate clients about insurance, wellness and treatment plans
• Promote hospital products and services and support the organization
• Respond to directions from DVM or LVT with urgency and professionalism
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
