Veterinary Emergency Group in Philadelphia’s Northern Liberties is seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant. You will support your team, comfort pet parents, and learn on the job in a high-energy ER setting, handling triage, treatments, and care from exams to treatment rooms.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 1+ year in veterinary assisting, strong communication, ability to lift 25 kg, and availability for nights/weekends.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and an understanding of practice management software and EMR.
• Excellent communicator with pet parents and your team.
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and equipment.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, lift up to 25 kg, and work on the floor.

Responsabilidades

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Work alongside credentialed technicians and veterinarians for anesthesia and sedation.
• Set up and monitor IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration.
• Assist during every moment of care in outpatient or inpatient settings.
• Join patient rounds and ensure continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER certification (training provided).
• Grow into advanced responsibilities through guided training pathways.
