Job summary

Animal Emergency Hospital in Bel Air, MD seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting. You will work with veterinarians and technicians to perform hands-on care, assist with diagnostic and surgical procedures, and help manage patient organization under leadership guidance.

Full-time or part-time roles are available. Night, weekend, and holiday coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in general veterinary practice OR minimum 2 years in emergency veterinary practice.
• Strong organization, multitasking, and ability to work under high-stress conditions with compassion.
• Working knowledge of common canine and feline breeds and emergency presentations.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on patient care and nursing support.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, treatments, and minor procedures.
• Educate clients on home care and post-discharge instructions; document communications clearly.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe clinical environment; support inventory and workflow.
• Collaborate with team to keep emergency cases moving efficiently.
