Qualifications

• Provides nursing care to patients per hospital standards and core values.
• Triage emergency cases as they come in and assist DVM with estimates.
• Understands medication classifications, side effects, and monitors therapeutic response.
• Administers medications via appropriate routes and durations.
• Performs physical exams and records vital signs and exam findings.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.
• Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart rate, pulse, capillary refill, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
