Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced ER team. You’ll support the clinicians, triage patients, and assist with treatments, monitoring, and patient comfort, while learning real-time in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Excellent communicator with pet parents and team.
• Able to stand for long hours, lift up to 25 kg, and work in a noisy environment.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Fast-paced environment适应能力.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics, including bloodwork and imaging.
• Support anesthesia and monitoring with credentialed professionals.
• Set up and manage IV fluids, blood products, and medications.
• Support both outpatient and inpatient care, from exam room to treatment area.
• Join rounds to maintain continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and RECOVER Certified Rescuer training (provided).
• Pursue advanced responsibilities through guided training pathways.
