Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Olympia Pet Emergency is seeking Veterinary Assistants to join our team for day shifts. You will assist veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks, maintain equipment, restrain and treat patients, and perform clerical duties in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years ER veterinary experience or 3+ years in general practice.
• Knowledge of hospital procedures, records, and sedation monitoring.
• Ability to restrain animals and handle sick animals and hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to all patients.
• Greet clients and guide them to an examining room, record weight and vitals.
• Triage, perform exams, treatments, and assisted medications per direction of licensed staff.
• Assist doctors and technicians with medications and restraints.
• Take radiographs and perform basic lab tests.
• Maintain hospital equipment and cleanliness; document controlled drugs.
