VCA Family and Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join the dynamic emergency team in Pearl City, Hawaii. The role focuses on assisting during surgeries and emergencies, monitoring patients, and communicating with pet owners.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in emergency veterinary care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians during emergency procedures, surgeries, trauma care, and critical treatments.
• Monitor vital signs and provide compassionate patient care in emergencies.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners, giving updates and care instructions.
• Maintain and ensure emergency equipment is clean, functional, and stocked.
• Collaborate with the emergency team to ensure high-quality care and smooth operations.

Schedule:

Compensation:

$19 - 26/hr, and the starting range isdeterminedby license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.

• Assistin Emergency Procedures: Support veterinarians and technicians during emergency surgeries, trauma care, and critical treatments.
• Patient Care: Provide compassionate and attentive care to emergency patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing comfort.
• Client Communication: Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing them with updates and information about their pet’s condition and care instructions.
• Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Ensure that all emergency equipment is properlymaintainedand that supplies are well-stocked and ready for use.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with our emergency veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of care anda seamlessoperation during emergencies
