Job summary

The Veterinary Emergency Group is expanding its 24/7/365 veterinary ER network in Indianapolis, IN. As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will handle emergencies, perform routine and complex surgeries, and treat various species including exotics, backed by a culture of mentorship and ongoing VEG Education programs.

You will work within a team that emphasizes growth, patient care, and client communication, with access to leadership guidance, continuing education, and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires passion for emergency medicine and ability to handle high-stress situations.
• Strong teamwork and communication to coordinate with staff and clients.
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods, lift up to 25 kg, and operate in a fast-paced ER.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions and see patients immediately as part of the VEG triage approach.
• Perform physical exams and diagnostic workups (ultrasound, X-ray, bloodwork, biopsies).
• Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans and discuss options with clients.
• Prepare estimates and present to clients.
• Document medical records accurately and educate clients on post-care.
• Perform emergency surgeries as needed and discuss aftercare and prevention with clients.
• Educate clients on follow-up care and preventive measures.
