Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join our 24/7 ER team. You will handle a range of emergency cases, including surgeries and exotics, while guiding clients through diagnoses, treatment options, and cost estimates. mentorship and continuous learning are core to the role.

As a hospital leader on the floor, you’ll work with a dedicated team and access VEG Education programs and unlimited ER CE to advance your career and impact on patients and families.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Live and breathe emergency medicine, including emergency surgery and endoscopy.
• Thrive in team‑oriented environments and be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions over the phone.
• See patients as part of the ER triage and care process.
• Perform physical exams and diagnostic tests (ultrasound, X-ray, bloodwork).
• Develop and present diagnostic and therapeutic plans to clients.
• Perform minor and major emergency surgeries and endoscopic procedures.
• Educate clients on aftercare and preventative measures.
