Job summary

MedVet Austin is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to serve as the ER Department Head. This full-time role splits time between clinical duties (roughly 10–12 shifts per month) and leading the ER team in our 24/7 hospital.

The successful candidate will bring three+ years of ER experience, with leadership or management background preferred in a multi-specialty setting. We offer a competitive compensation package and signing bonus, as well as a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between Emergency Services and specialty departments for seamless case management.
• Support the Medical Director in strategic growth and daily ER operations.
• Participate in ER doctor recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, and training.
• Create and maintain the ER doctor schedule.
• Assist with client concerns and enhance referral partner experience.

Previous leadership/management experience and experience in a multi-specialty setting are preferred.
