Metropolitan Animal Emergency and Specialty Center is the Greater Washington Metropolitan area's pet care answer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We combine the passionate care you are accustomed to from your primary care veterinarian with the precision and effectiveness of emergency veterinary care.

We have been successfully and compassionately operating since 1976. As one of the oldest and best-known 24-hour emergency animal hospitals in the country, we are a part of the community and share in its history.

Rest assured, we are on stand-by for you and your pet, around the clock. Whether it is emergency veterinary services for your pet's needs or post-incident monitoring and care, the staff at Metropolitan Emergency & Specialty Center has dedicated itself to bringing the wag back to your dog's tail and the purr back to your cat's meow.

We combine the passionate care you're accustomed to from your primary care veterinarian with the precision and effectiveness that emergency veterinary care requires in emergency, diagnostic, surgical, and specialized intensive care services.

OUR HOME

Nestled in central Montgomery County, Rockville is regarded as one of America's leading small cities for work and play. Offers the warmth of a hometown feel with year-round community events and great connectivity to parks, schools, employment hubs, and the nation's capital. This is a great area for hiking enthusiasts and even biking the several trails in the area. This area provides convenient commuting to DC as well which allows for a great day in the nation's capital without living the big city life.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build relationships with colleagues, clients, and support staff to ensure a compassionate and collaborative work environment.
  • Motivated to foster a learning environment for colleagues, support staff, and veterinary students visiting the hospital.
  • Triage and facilitate treatment plans for emergency patients.
  • Continue care of specialty patients who are hospitalized overnight and on weekends.
  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
  • Provide clear and complete communication to clients and support staff.
  • Communicate with referral partners (verbally and with referral letters)
  • Attend morning rounds to collaborate with specialists on the currently hospitalized patients.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive work culture.
  • Support the hospital's Fear-Free culture and commitment.
