Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD from AVMA-accredited school or ECFVG certification.
  • Oregon veterinary licensure or eligibility.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in emergency medicine.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform triage, diagnostics, and medical management for a diverse emergency caseload.
  • Manage patient flow across the ER and ICU alongside a skilled technician team.
  • Develop diagnostic and treatment plans and communicate clearly with clients during critical moments.

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian (DVM/VMD) to join our state‑of‑the‑art emergency and specialty hospital in Portland, Oregon.


DoveLewis is a nonprofit, mission‑driven teaching hospital known for its collaborative culture, advanced medicine, and deep commitment to the community. Our emergency doctors manage a wide variety of challenging cases while working alongside 20+ board‑certified specialists and a highly skilled technical team.


This role offers the opportunity to practice high‑level emergency medicine in a supportive environment, with seamless access to specialty services, advanced diagnostics, and a hospital culture focused on learning, mentorship, and excellent patient care.


What You’ll Do


  • Perform triage, diagnostics, and medical management for a diverse emergency caseload

Requirements


  • DVM/VMD (or equivalent) from an AVMA‑accredited veterinary school or ECFVG certification
