Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health’s VetMED in Phoenix, AZ seeks an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join a 24-hour, AAHA-accredited hospital that collaborates across Critical Care, Surgery, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Radiology, and Dermatology.

You will deliver high-quality emergency and critical care, work overnight shifts, and benefit from a comprehensive program including competitive compensation, sign-on, relocation assistance, and professional development opportunities within the Ethos

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Arizona veterinary licensure.
  • Completion of a rotating internship or a minimum of two years of emergency medicine experience.
  • Willingness to work an overnight schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
  • Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.
  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, specialists, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

At VetMED, you’ll do more than practice emergency medicine—you’ll join a highly collaborative, AAHA-accredited, 24-hour Emergency and Specialty hospital where advanced medicine, teamwork, and exceptional patient care come together.

Our Emergency Veterinarians work alongside specialists and residency-trained colleagues in Critical Care, Surgery, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Radiology, and Dermatology, creating an environment where collaboration and support are part of everyday practice.

You’ll have access to advanced technology and resources, including telemetry, high-flow oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, two radiology suites, a dedicated procedure room, endoscopy, MRI, and a new Canon 128-slice CT, along with skilled veterinary technicians who help you focus on practicing exceptional medicine.

In your day-to-day, you will:
