Job summary

Emergency Veterinarian position at SAVES in Lebanon, NH offers a base salary of $160,000 with 24%–26% production and a $30,000 sign-on bonus. Full-time with flexible schedule: choose between 3 rotating shifts per week or 2 overnight shifts with full benefits.

You will provide high-level emergency and critical care to cats and dogs, collaborate with a strong team of veterinarians and technicians, and participate in a network focused on growth, teaching, and pursuit of board certification.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree; NH veterinary licensure eligible.
• Rotation internship and/or 2+ years emergency medicine experience preferred.
• Ability to manage emergency cases with sound clinical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-qualified emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of cats and dogs.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for urgent medical conditions.
• Perform soft tissue emergency surgical procedures.
• Provide comprehensive emergency care with triage and inpatient management.
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill patients using evidence-based medicine.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and staff for seamless patient care.
• Communicate clearly with pet owners during stressful situations.
• Contribute to a positive team culture focused on collaboration and learning.

In your day‑to‑day, you will:

• Deliver high‑quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of cats and dogs.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
• Perform soft tissue emergency surgical procedures.
• Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

What You Bring

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for New Hampshire veterinary licensure.
• Completion of a rotating internship and/or 2+ years' experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred.
• Confidence managing emergency cases and making sound clinical decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client‑centered approach.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
