Job summary

Small Animal Veterinary Emergency Services (SAVES) in Lebanon, NH, seeks a Veterinarian - Emergency for a permanent, full-time position. The role offers a competitive base salary of $160,000 plus 24–26% production and a $30,000 sign-on bonus.

Work is full-time with generous benefits and a choice of rotating 10-hour day/15-hour overnight shifts or two 15-hour overnights weekly. You will deliver emergency and critical care, support high-quality medicine, and collaborate with a skilled team 24/7.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for New Hampshire veterinary licensure.
  • Completion of a rotating internship and/or 2+ years’ experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced ER setting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of cats and dogs.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for urgent and emergent cases.
  • Perform soft tissue emergency surgical procedures.
  • Stabilize critically ill patients using evidence-based medicine.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and staff to ensure seamless care.
  • Communicate clearly with pet owners during stressful situations.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.

Full-time opportunity in Lebanon, NH

Schedule: Choose between 3 rotating shifts per week (mix of 10-hr day and 15-hr overnight shifts) OR only 2 15-hour overnight shifts per week with full benefits

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of cats and dogs.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
  • Perform soft tissue emergency surgical procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.
  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for New Hampshire veterinary licensure.
  • Completion of a rotating internship and/or 2+ years’ experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred.
  • Confidence managing emergency cases and making sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
