Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) in South Deerfield, MA is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian for a full-time role on a three 12-hour shift schedule. The position offers a starting salary of $160,000–$180,000 with tiered production bonuses, plus a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

This role involves delivering high-quality emergency and critical care, triage of urgent cases, and collaboration with a network of specialists.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for licensure.
• Rotating internship completed or 2 years ER experience preferred.
• Ability to manage emergency cases in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
• Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
• Cut soft tissue emergency surgeries.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
