Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician in Vermont. You will join a front-line team delivering gold standard, compassionate care to pets in emergencies while supporting their families.

You’ll be involved in triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, continuing to grow your skills in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• CVT/RVT/LVMT credential in-state VEG practice required.
• 1+ year vet technician experience; emergency/ specialty preferred.
• Calm under pressure with strong communication.
• Able to lift up to 25 kg and stand for extended periods.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Triage and treat patients with a wide range of emergencies.
• Assist doctors with diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and care.
• Provide emotional support to pet parents during stressful moments.
• Support nursing tasks from first triage to discharge.
• Perform CPR and participate in advanced emergency procedures.
• Utilize imaging, diagnostics, and sample collection as needed.
• Operate central lines, endoscopy, ultrasounds and related tools.
