Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Duluth, MN is seeking experienced Part-time Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. You'll support anesthesia, triage, imaging, and critical patient monitoring in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases on arrival and monitor vitals (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure).
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Understand normal ranges of vital signs and alert the Veterinarian to changes.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vitals; alert Veterinarian to issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical math (CRIs, etc.) and administer medications via appropriate routes/durations.
• Phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
