MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team in McMurray, PA. The role requires a licensed RVT with proven veterinary experience and the ability to manage rapid case changes in an emergency setting.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required; emergency experience preferred.
• Proficient in drug calculations and unit conversions.
• Flexible hours and able to work overtime when necessary.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ER environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary.
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.
