Job summary

PetVet Care Centers' Westside Animal Emergency Clinic in Lithia Springs, Georgia, is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in daily tasks—cleaning, feeding, restraining patients, and clerical work. The role involves emergency care in a fast-paced setting, with opportunities for growth and ongoing training.

We seek candidates with ER experience, strong client communication, and competence in IV catheters, blood draws, radiology, and anesthesia

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous ER experience is required.
• Proficient in IV catheter placement, jugular and other blood draws, ICU monitoring, and radiography.
• Able to triage, restrain patients, perform surgical prep, and monitor anesthesia.
• Capable of administering IV/IM/SQ injections and communicating with clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and monitor patients in the ER.
• Greet clients, obtain weights and vitals, and escort to exam rooms.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with treatments and restraints.
• Perform lab tests and take radiographs as directed.
• Maintain equipment, stock supplies, and document records.
