Job summary

VESH – Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital in Brentwood, NH is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant for evening shifts and rotating Saturdays. You will support emergency and specialty patients, assist with exams, treatments, and procedures, and help maintain a calm, efficient hospital environment.

Ideal candidates have veterinary assistant or animal care experience and can stay composed under pressure while delivering compassionate care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary assistant or animal care experience preferred (emergency experience a plus).

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with emergency exams, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures
• Safely handle and restrain patients, including those that may be critical or unstable
• Monitor hospitalized patients and promptly report changes to the medical team
• Prepare, clean, and maintain treatment areas, cages, and equipment
• Support overall hospital flow and maintain a high standard of organization and patient care
