Job summary

The Aebi Schmidt Group is seeking an Emergency Vehicle Technician in Miami, FL to support upfit of police and emergency vehicles. This Regular Employee, Hourly Non-Exempt role pays $19.00–$21.00 per hour and requires strong 12V electrical skills, basic wiring, and the ability to follow install procedures.

You will assist lead installers, remove and reinstall components, install lightbars and interior lights, and support fabrication while growing with a supportive team that values public safety.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of 12V electrical systems.
• Experience using hand tools (sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills, impact guns).
• Ability to drill, modify brackets, and follow install procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Positive attitude and team player.
• Experience in a shop setting (vehicle upfit, stereo install, or body shop preferred).
• EVT or ASE certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead installers with emergency vehicle builds.
• Remove and reinstall vehicle components (bumpers, seats, trim, lights).
• Install push bumpers, cages, lightbars, lock boxes, and interior lights.
• Perform basic wiring, including crimping, splicing, and setting light patterns.
• Support fabrication and fitment of custom equipment.
